Mr. Griffin, a native of Union County, graduated from Pfeiffer College and taught in the Winston-Salem public schools before law school. He graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Law and was licensed to practice law in North Carolina in 1967. Griffin was elected to the Monroe Board of Education in 1977 and served as the Board’s Chairman from 1981 to 1989. He is a former member of the North Carolina General Assembly, a former trustee of Pfeiffer University, and former chairman of the Union County Board of Elections. Griffin is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association (Elder Law, Estate Planning, Municipal Attorneys, Real Property Sections) and is a former Certified Mediator. He was inducted into the North Carolina Bar Association General Practice Hall of Fame in 2017.
